Salary/Position Classification

  • $18-$30 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 19 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite.

Purpose of Position

Temp position to assist during staff shortages

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct patient to exam room in a polite and timely manner.
  • Take a brief history, vital signs and record all medications and allergies.
  • Contributes to nursing assessment by collecting, reporting, and recording objective and subjective data in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare patient appropriately for visit.
  • Make sure all forms are filled out correctly for physicals, procedures, etc.
  • Clarifies and implements physician orders.
  • Performs care, treatments, and procedures according to Center for Family Medicine
  • Answer telephone politely and promptly. Take accurate information.
  • Documents and communicates nursing interventions and patient responses to appropriate members of the health care team.
  • Electronically refill prescriptions to pharmacy as ordered by physician with accuracy.
  • Schedule various procedures and or appointments with other physicians.
  • Reports and tracks laboratory test results, and other diagnostic testing as indicated by Risk Management Policies and Procedures.
  • Follow-up on “No Show” appointments in accordance with Risk Management policies and procedures
  • Complete annual competency verification 
  • Clean and stock exam rooms
  • Assist with teaching/training of family practice resident physicians in clinical procedures
  • Assist with telephone triage.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments
  • Schedule patients and provide patients with preparation instructions.
  • Perform nursing assessment including VS, general exam, etc. and document results in patient chart

Required Competencies

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work closely with faculty and resident physicians.
  • Must be able to work with patients and the public in a professional, confidential, and calm fashion.
  • Proficiency working with electronic health records.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of CNA licensure in the State of North Dakota.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
