Purpose of Position

To monitor High-school aged students on the UND campus with Summer Institute participants grades 7-12 in the dorms and serve as an over-night/on-call resource for the five-week academic enrichment program. Will also counsel, provide guidance, and monitor counseling staff and students to ensure the program is running smoothly.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Live in residence hall on UND campus with Summer Institute participants grades 7 through 12 to serve as overnight on-call resource for the five-week academic enrichment program.
  • Room and Board costs covered by INMED
  • Will supervise all activities in the dorm to ensure compliance with program standards and all UND policies as they pertain to minors and staff on campus, housing policies, use of property & buildings, codes, and policies etc.
  • Will monitor counseling staff to maintain a positive, family-oriented living environment for all students and staff.
  • Will work with the SI Coordinator to ensure the program is running smoothly.
  • May accompany students on all field trips and activities.
  • Will provide wisdom and guidance to staff and students.
  • Will be on duty 7:30PM-2:00AM for the five-week period. Two assigned days off will be given at the discretion of the SI Coordinator.
  • Patrol residence hall wings occupied by SI students and staff at regular intervals, address and resolve issues.
  • Dates of employment will be June 3rd – July 12th, 2024.
  • Mandatory Staff Orientation is June 3rd – June 7th, 2024.

Required Competencies

  • Must be willing to travel with students and have valid drivers license.
    Must have positive and caring attitude and enjoy working with young people.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with young adults desired.
  • Experience with and understanding of UND housing policies, procedures, and resources.
