Salary/Position Classification

  • $45,000-$50,000 annual, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 40 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite our Grand Forks, ND campus.

Purpose of Position

As a Travel/Accounting Specialist, you will contribute to the success of the organization by performing one or more of the following:

  • Process accounting transactions including payments, journals, and various reconciliations in accordance with UND and EERC policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate travel including transportation, lodging, and registrations and process-related reimbursements.
  • Review accounting transactions for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reallocate purchasing card transactions.
  • Assist with processing departmental payroll.
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Work both collaboratively and independently; and contribute to process improvements.

Required Competencies

  • Effectively manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate degree in accounting or business-related field OR 3 years full-time related work experience in a business support roll such as bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll clerk.
  • Experience with accounts payable.
  • Experience arranging, planning, and processing travel.
  • Experience working with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Resume and cover letter.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 or more years directly related work experience
  • Experience with UND policies and procedures
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS and Finance
  • Experience working with funding from multiple sources
