Salary/Position Classification

  • $10.00 hourly, non-exempt (eligible for overtime)
  • 5-20 hours per week

Purpose of Position

Support RecSports programming by keeping accurate score, enforcing rules, and assisting with setup and takedown of courts and fields. Ensure games run smoothly by maintaining schedules, verifying eligibility, and promoting good sportsmanship.

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate game timing, scoring, and substitutions according to sport-specific rules.
  • Keep games on schedule and enforce all RecSports rules and policies.
  • Verify player eligibility by checking ID cards before each game.
  • Set up and take down courts/fields and check out equipment or jerseys as needed.
  • Promote sportsmanship and report unsportsmanlike behavior when necessary.
  • Record and submit scores using department provided software.
  • Be punctual, attentive, and professional throughout all events.
  • Assist with special events, field maintenance, and sanitation tasks.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings; wear PPE as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge of rules of the sport, especially those pertaining to scoring and timekeeping.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical and detailed knowledge of game rules.
  • Knowledge of general RecSports and Wellness Center policies and procedures.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED.
