Pre-Clerkship Clinical Sciences Curriculum Director

  • $155,000+ contract, Exempt
  • 40+ hours per week

Purpose of Position

Education Resources/Medical Curriculum at the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences seeks a board-certified M.D. for a full-time, benefited twelve-month non-tenure track, faculty position. Responsibilities include serving as a Director of Pre-clerkship Clinical Sciences including instruction in the fundamentals of clinical science instruction and assessment of medical students (physical exam and patient interviewing) and participating in the design and facilitation of problem- and team-based learning experiences, and leadership in curriculum revision endeavors. Position does require in-office hours, hybrid flexibility may be possible with approval from supervisor.

Required Competencies

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to utilize or learn relevant technology

Minimum Requirements

  • M.D. degree and board certification
  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of teaching methods
  • 3-years experience in medical education in a variety of settings
  • 10 years experience in the practice of medicine
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching in a problem-based and team-based learning curriculum
  • Knowledge of current physical examination and patient interviewing teaching methodologies
  • Highly developed communication and organizational skills
