Salary/Position Classification

  • Bachelor's prepared paid at $1400/credit, Master's prepared paid at $1700/credit
  • 19 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite the Grand Forks, ND campus.

Purpose of Position

The mission of the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is to provide excellent and collaborative education, scholarship and service to advance human well-being for all, with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations.

The college is comprised of the departments of Nursing, Nutrition & Dietetics, Social Work and the Children & Family Services Training Center. For this position, we are seeking a part-time adjunct nursing clinical instructor who will be responsible for the planning, presentation and evaluation of classroom, clinical and lab instruction and related activities.

An on campus presence is required for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teaching Duties include, but are not limited to, planning, presenting and evaluating clinical and lab classes.
    • Classes/labs may be held early mornings, during the day or in the late afternoon/early evening.
    • Assignment of classes will vary depending on skill set of applicant and needs of the department.
    • Potential courses may consist of:
      • NURS 313, Clinical Practicum I
      • NURS 333, Clinical Practicum II
      • NURS 433, Clinical Practicum III
      • NURS 443, Clinical Practicum IV

Required Competencies

  • Must be competent in the nursing field as well as in the subject(s) assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree (or higher) in Nursing
    OR
    Master's degree in another field with completion or progression of Nursing Education Certificate
    OR
    Bachelor's degree in Nursing with enrollment & making progress on a Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing
  • One year of nursing experience
  • Unencumbered nursing license or license-eligible by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (or higher) in Nursing
  • Teaching experience in an academic setting
