We’re looking for an Outreach Coordinator to join our dynamic team at the Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC)!

Be a part of cutting-edge research, engage with professionals who share your passion, and create work you can be proud of. As an Outreach Coordinator, you will contribute to the success of the organization by performing one or more of the following:

  • Coordination, creation, and maintenance of project-specific website content.
  • Coordinate with web team on website analytics and search engine optimization reports for project-specific sites.
  • Development of products in a variety of formats (such as fact sheets, news releases, and key messages) to promote and inform about technical projects.
  • Coordination of outreach activities such as exhibit booths, community meetings, open houses, hands-on displays, podcast content, etc.
  • Assist in disseminating outreach products and content.
  • Track and report on outreach activities and information dissemination efforts.
  • Assist in the coordination efforts to develop, maintain, and implement outreach plans for EERC projects.
  • Travel is required.

Required Competencies

  • Motivated, adaptive individual with a positive, goal-oriented attitude.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong skills in oral and written communication with the ability to communicate complicated ideas succinctly and persuasively.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge, curiosity, and passion for learning.
  • Excel at working both individually and as part of a diverse team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical communications, English, journalism, physical science, or related field.
  • 3+ year(s) of professional experience in writing technical-to-general audience communication.
  • Writing sample translating a technical concept to everyday verbiage uploaded with the application.
  • Cover letter, resume, or curriculum vitae.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing outreach materials and presentations for nontechnical audiences.
  • Experience working on energy or environmental topics.
  • Experience with web content management systems and search engine optimization.
  • Experience coordinating outreach activities such as exhibit booths, community meetings, open houses, hands-on displays, etc.
