Salary/Position Classification

  • $17.00 Hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 40 hours per week

Purpose of Position

The purpose of this position is to operate efficiently and effectively In a large volume dish washing position. This position provides support to production staff, service staff and customers by providing clean and sanitary dishes and cooking equipment

Duties & Responsibilities

Washing Dishes, service equipment and production equipment

  • Operates dish machine according to instructions and informs production manager when supply of detergent or other chemicals are low. 
  • Checks the temperature gauges throughout the day
  • Reports any machine failure to the production manager
  • Sorts dishes, silverware, trays and pans; washes them; returns them to their designated storage areas
  • Checks dishes, silverware, trays, and pans to insure proper cleaning and sanitation

Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the dish room area

  • Maintains a clean and sanitary dish room 
  • Keeps all tray and dish carts clean 
  • Disassembles, scrubs, washes, sanitizes and reassembles dish machine daily 
  • Sprays out pulper and grease traps daily
  • Cleans conveyor belt daily

Supervises student employees

  • Train student staff in the proper procedures of dish machine operation

Other duties as assigned

  • Assists with light custodial duties during peak times and breaks
  • Attends scheduled meetings and training sessions

Required Competencies

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work in various temperatures associated with dish machine operations
  • Able to stand/walk 4 to 4 ½ hours at a time
  • Able to move 35 - 50 pounds.
  • Is self-motivated, needs very little supervision
  • Optimistic attitude, high degree of integrity, and a strong work ethic

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 18+ years of age at time of hire
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with students and special needs staff
  • Knowledge of the materials and equipment used in the business
  • Certification of completion of the Applied Foodservice Sanitation Course
