Purpose of Position

The CPR and First Aid Instructor will be responsible for teaching First Aid/CPR/AED training classes for Health and Wellness employees, UND affiliates, and the greater Grand Forks community.

This is a part-time, non-benefitted position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Instruct First Aid/CPR/AED Training classes in accordance with American Heart Association requirements.
  • Adjust class to accommodate a variety of skill levels
  • Engages and connects with participants, being approachable, and caters to needs of members
  • Utilize appropriate technology to deliver class curriculum, track attendance, and course completion.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Team Health and Wellness trainings in addition to First Aid/CPR/AED as needed.
  • Attend meetings/trainings for Team Health and Wellness area as required.
  • Complete all cleaning and sanitation tasks as assigned to maintain a safe & healthy environment.
  • Must wear appropriate PPE as directed for specific tasks/duties.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current American Heart Association Instructor certification or willingness to obtain certification. If Red Cross certified, must complete a transition with the local office to American Heart Association.
  • Strong communication skills and a personable attitude.
  • Ability to present to and train large groups.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize.
  • Experience with basic computer applications.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or previous experience instructing American Heart Association certification courses.
