Salary/Position Classification

  • $12.50 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 10-20 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite.

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor access to university facilities-buildings
    • Monitor EDA locking/unlocking of all buildings along with some manual locking/unlocking of buildings
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting students, staff, and visitors with lock out assistance, offering information and directions as needed
  • Document and report all safety hazards, security incidents, and suspicious activities accurately and in a timely manner to the University Police Department or the UND Operations Center for follow up or response

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid Drivers License and clean driving record
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training, such as CPR and AED within six months of hire
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit for the employed academic semester
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check 

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in security or law enforcement, or related field
  • Security related certifications (e.g., CPR-AED or First Aid)
  • Experience in using jump packs or vehicle unlock tools
