Purpose of Position

The Aircraft Dispatcher works with students and instructors. The position provides phone and over the counter support for scheduling, dispatching, processing of flights, and other aviation flight training related request from students, instructors and/or support staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Processing request for Scheduling, Dispatch, and Invoicing for students/instructors:
    • Process request for flight training scheduling, dispatch and invoicing of flights according to establish procedures.
    • Monitor flight scheduling status, dispatching need for potential scheduling problems.
    • Invoice flight and ground briefing promptly and file all documents according to established procedures.
    • Assist with the collection of TSA Badges or TSA Trusted agent duties.
    • Assist any station at peak times.
  • Processing request for information, data, and essential materials for students/instructors or supervisor:
    • Process request for data or services requested by student/instructor.
    • Process request for data or information requested by supervisor.
    • Run reports and investigate areas of concern or as requested by supervisor.
    • Process information and route information, data or materials to designated individuals or departments. 
  • Communicate with maintenance, line, Safety Officer of Flight (SOF) and Manager on Duty (MOD):
    • Coordinate with the SOF or MOD for flight activity, status and other weather-related flight activity.
    • Coordinate with line personnel for all aircraft movement and notification.
    • Maintain current information of aircraft status and coordinate with line for department needs.
    • Monitor and coordinate with maintenance aircraft requested for schedule maintenance (AM and PM).
    • Update supervisor on aircraft demands as needed.
    • Assist with training and supervision of part-time employees. 
  • Other daily functions and administrative duties:
    • Process opening and closing according to established procedures.
    • Assist with the supervising of student and part-time employees.
    • Process corrections as requested or required.
    • File all flight and department documents according to establish procedures.
    • Process end of the month reconciliation and procedures.
    • Process all flight records for achieving, filing and/or destruction.
    • Assist Dispatch Manager with other projects
    • Other department duties as assigned.

Required Competencies

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task and have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to work a diversified hourly schedule.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Must be able to work a diversified hourly schedule.
  • Must be able to work in a high pace environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have at least 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (including Excel and Access) and Windows.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
