Salary/Position Classification

  • 22.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 20 hours per week (Summer only position)

Purpose of Position

Undergraduate Research Experience and Training in Quantum Computing Applications. This is a part-time, non-benefited position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct numerical experiments to test quantum algorithms for applications of quantum computers in challenging problems in chemistry and physics 
  • Do data analysis, write reports and present finding in the group and potentially in conferences 
  • Learn about the new progress in quantum computing in industry and academia 

Required Competencies

  • Basic skills in mathematics, physics, and chemistry
  • Basic skills in programming

Minimum Requirements

  • Completed a basic course that has concepts of quantum mechanics in Physics or Chemistry
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Research experience in computational or theoretical Physics/Chemistry/Math
  • Taken at least one advanced course in quantum mechanics
