Salary/Position Classification

  • 15.00 Hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 6-12 hrs/week hours per week

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Help students to become better independent learners by assisting them in the understanding of course material and answering their questions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist students in the understanding of course material
    • Identify strengths and areas of improvement regarding the content of the coursework and study habits
    • Answer student questions and guide them through class assignments
    • Conduct review sessions before exams
  • Completion of CRLA-certified tutoring training
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and hours worked 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Tutor Coordinator

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have taken Engineering 201
  • Have proof of understanding of course material, evidenced by a minimum grade of B in the course (or equivalent coursework) for which you will tutor
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit for the employed academic semester
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
