Salary/Position Classification

  • $52,000 9-month contract, Exempt
  • 40 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite at the Grand Forks, ND campus.

Purpose of Position

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful applicant will receive a contract with an approximate distribution of 95% teaching and 5% service effort. UND and the College of Arts & Sciences value diverse perspectives and seek applicants who are committed to helping students from underrepresented backgrounds succeed. 

  • Teach 100- and 200-level undergraduate courses in mathematics, including on-campus (in-person) courses in the Math Active Learning Lab and term-based online courses
  • Work collaboratively with other Mathematics & Statistics Department faculty to achieve consistent and high-quality learning environments

Required Competencies

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to teach and inspire students
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty,
    staff, and students
  • Ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues within and outside the
    Department of Mathematics & Statistics
  • Competent in using technology and ability to adopt new tools for both on-campus and
    online course delivery.

Minimum Requirements

  • Earned M.S. in Mathematics by August 15, 2025.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate level
  • Experience with teaching and course development for an online environment, especially
    using asynchronous delivery methods
