JOB DUTIES: Responsible for developing user interface and web framework design, support content management systems, and research new technologies. Specific duties include: (1) Collaborating with team members to review and enhance existing software; (2) Troubleshooting and maintaining existing software applications and identifying areas for improvement and refactoring; (3) Developing and integrating reusable components within the existing UND software framework; (4) Leveraging JavaScript and JavaScript libraries, frameworks, and applications (including jQuery, Node.js, and Gulp) to introduce interactivity into applications and build pipelines; (5) Developing and maintaining client and web-based applications and address website software programming needs (including dynamic content, form logic, data collection, reporting, and payment handling); (6) Monitoring, testing, and optimizing usability and performance and ensuring cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility; and (7) Evaluating production websites with analytics software to ensure the effectiveness of a site’s user interface and architecture.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related; 2 years of web development experience, including specific experience designing semantic HTML code; user-centered design, usability, and accessibility (W3C and 508); and with content management system platforms (including Omni CMS, WordPress, or Drupal). Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript web design languages. Ability to use mockup concepts and transform them into fully functional websites and applications.
