JOB TITLE:              Software Developer 

 

JOB LOCATION:    Grand Forks, ND 

 

JOB DUTIES:           Responsible for developing custom software applications and assisting Information Resources team in meeting needs of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Specific duties include: (1) providing software development and design by working with Application Developer to maintain existing SMHS .Net web applications with focus on back-end development, creating and maintaining backend services on Windows servers,  implementing or consuming APIs or SDKs from internal or external sources, and maintaining development workflow for continuous integration and deployment of software; (2) providing information management system development and maintenance by troubleshooting problems that arise on systems hosting software built in-house or third party software that integrates with software built in-house, providing backup and disaster recovery processes, and implementing security and vulnerability management procedures; and (3) providing IT support by working closing with SMHS faculty, staff, and students to assist with various technology needs, and coordinating,  collaborating, and contributing to Information Resources support staff team efforts as needed. 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:     B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology or related; two years of IT or related experience; specific experience with Window Server, Jenkins or other development software for continuous integration and deployment of software, Powershell scripting, Linux, Unix, Storage Area Networks, VMWare, and securing applications and performing vulnerability tests; and knowledge of authentication techniques, C#, ASP.NET MVC, and SQL Server.
