Purpose of Position

The University of North Dakota (UND) has ongoing interest in conducting research related to weather and climate impacts on agricultural production in the Northern Great Plains region. Current research toward this interest includes, climate model downscaling, crop modeling and data assimilation, remote sensing, machine learning, and statistical analysis. Drs. Zhang and Marquis are looking for a post-bachelor-level student to help with developing software code and packages for analyzing the impact of weather on agricultural production.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Sciences or related field.
  • Strong software & programming skills with experience in software development.
  • Experience with numerical weather prediction models.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.
