  • $64,800 + Dependent on Experience, Annual, Exempt
  • 40 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite at UND Grand Forks, ND campus

Purpose of Position

The incumbent will serve as the Senior Project Coordinator of one or more rural health grant-funded initiatives providing day-to-day program management. The initial project supporting this position will be with the Wyoming Maternal Health Innovation Program (WY-MHIP), which is focused on developing, implementing, and researching the impact of innovations in maternal health throughout Wyoming. This position reports to the grant Principal Investigator.

Duties & Responsibilities

Grant program management activities.

  • Determine program development initiatives, action steps, follow-through, and tracking.
    • Ensure timely and effective completion of program objectives.
    • Create progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Draft and manage Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs).
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders.
    • Managing the program’s task forces and working groups.
    • Expand and strengthen connections with other state and national entities.
  • Supervise program staff including continued professional development, annual staff performance reviews, and creating a positive and productive work environment.
    • Provide work direction and task assignments to staff, review and approve work efforts/products, and monitor performance.
    • Provide opportunities for staff and team education/training to further their professional knowledge of rural health organizations and systems.
    • Adhere to UND HR, Payroll, and other policies related to staff management.
  • Provide grant administration.
    • Create and monitor program budgets.
    • Make financial decisions with the PI’s input; including overseeing expenditures, subcontracts, procurement processes, technical assistance, and other services.
    • Work with CRH to support grant management.
    • Adhere to federal and state, private, foundation, and university terms, conditions, and regulations for grants and contracts.

Assist with Implementing programmatic strategies.

  • Implement program work plans.
    • Coordinate the activities in the grant work plan.
    • Generate reports and respond to other data queries.
    • Implement and manage program goals, including evaluation and reporting. 
    • Assist PI in the application and communication of program processes, guidelines, and policies.
  • Coordinate with key partners and other stakeholders.
    • Participate in community development meetings to enhance collaboration.
    • Assist with development of promotional campaigns and advertising for the program.
  • Organize and facilitate program meetings.
  • Apply creativity and logic to locate specific information and to research issues.

Participate in professional activities.

  • Participate in Center for Rural Health meetings.
  • Develop and manage special projects and other job-related duties, as assigned.
  • Participate on committees, make presentations, and publish appropriate research or accomplishments, as assigned.
  • Keep current on the latest developments in the field and areas of interest related to your position, through reading and other communications.
  • Contribute to the advancement of the profession and status of the Center for Rural Health at the University of North Dakota.

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, take initiative, and to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be able to travel to national events occasionally, and regional or local events and meetings in Wyoming.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree.
  • Five years’ experience working in program and/or organizational management. Must substantiate years of experience in a statement provided as part of cover letter.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Experience using videoconferencing platforms such as Zoom, WebEx (or similar).
  • Successful completion of criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in health or management/administration field.
  • Experience working in project or grant management.
  • Experience working with maternal and/or child health programs.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in community outreach.
  • Experience organizing and tracking programmatic information, and writing programmatic reports.
  • Experience facilitating meetings and presenting to a wide-range of audiences from small meetings to large groups.
