The Nookala lab in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow who will work on an NIH-funded project aimed at investigating the role of IgA-coated bacteria in intestinal dysbiosis and brain changes in mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The Postdoctoral fellow will contribute to the understanding of:
a) how longitudinal changes in the composition of IgA-coated gut bacteria correlate with changes in behavior and brain pathophysiology in AD; and
b) how cross-presentation by oral gavage of sorted IgA-coated bacteria from older AD mice to young AD mice may drive peripheral and AD-related neuroimmune changes, notably early onset of AD, cognitive impairments, and behavior.
