Salary/Position Classification

  • $14.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 10-15 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite.

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

The Pride Center Peer Educator assists with the planning and implementation of Pride Center events and activities, office management, and peer education.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain a welcoming and approachable environment for students and visitors in the Pride Center 
  • Serve as a resource for students and visitors by providing accurate and current information regarding the Pride Center and University related programs and services. 
  • Assist director with administrative tasks 
  • Student outreach and engagement 
  • Provide support in planning and implementing Pride Center events and activities 
  • Assist with event marketing and promotion 
  • Represent the Pride Center at tabling events and campus fairs 
  • Assist with the development of Pride Center social media content 
  • Scheduled desk hours in the Pride Center. 
  • Maintain organization of Pride Center office supplies, resources, inventory, and shared workspace.

  • Demonstrated awareness and understanding of LGBTQIA2S+ identities and experiences.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Must be a team player    
  • Excellent written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to problem solve creatively and effectively

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in courses for the semester of employment
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with public speaking and student engagement
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, email, etc.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
