Purpose of Position

The Department of Music at the University of North Dakota is searching to fill a part-time instructor to begin January 1, 2025 through May 15, 2025. They will be responsible for the instruction and assessment of applied cello and string bass, along with one section of mixed chamber music. Experience or demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups is preferred.

Required Competencies

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to teach, inspire, and mentor students
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues within and outside the Department of Music.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in music or equivalent experience with specialization in low strings.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Collegiate teaching experience.
  • Orchestral performing experience
