Purpose of Position

This position provides content expertise insight and instructional support and for the UND Histotechnician Program.

Duties & Responsibilities

Serve as primary instructor for HT 360-Histopathology Laboratory Theory (a 3-credit, online, asynchronous course offered in each of the fall, spring, and summer semesters), specifically:
- Maintain and update course materials in accordance with programmatic curricular guidelines
- Monitor and provide feedback related to student progress
- Evaluate and provide accurate and timely feedback for student work
- Respond to and communicate with students in a timely and professional manner
- Conduct continuous quality assessment of the course, in alignment with program assessment processes
- Determine and report student grades in accordance with policy
Attend and actively participate in HT Program planning and meetings, and the HT Advisory Committee
Complete Continuing Education/Professional Development activities as defined by departmental guidelines

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree
Completion of a NAACLS-accredited HT/HTL program
ASCP Certification as an HTL
6 months experience as an HT/HTL
Successful completion of a criminal history background check

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Experience with education technologies such as Blackboard or recording software
Experience teaching/training students or employees
Familiarity with the UND HT program
