  • This position will work onsite the Grand Forks, ND campus.

Purpose of Position

The Pancratz Career Development Center has grown substantially in the number of students served, scope of outreach, and range of services in the past several years and continues to find innovative ways to expand its impact. The Marketing and Event Coordinator position is an integral part of achieving the goals and objectives of the center by providing outreach to internal and external stakeholders utilizing diverse communication methods; planning and facilitating all aspects of career-related events; and building relationships with employers through promoting their internships and full-time roles. This individual must be able to develop strong relationships within the college, cultivate relationships across the university, partner with employers and alumni as well as expand career opportunities for students. This role will also support the UND Strategic plan by contributing to the core values of community, diversity, inclusivity and lifelong learning.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Market events, services, and opportunities and manage social media platforms and the website.
    • Market events, services, and opportunities to students, student organizations, faculty, staff, and employers
    • Create new, engaging content for website and social media platforms including student, alumni, and employer features
    • Develop and maintain social media strategy and track progress in engagement on various platforms
    • Manage Pancratz website utilizing OmniUpdate
    • Analyze student contact database to determine which marketing strategies are effective
    • Create and send newsletters to Nistler students with timely, relevant, and accurate content
    • Take professional photos for Nistler students and alumni and edit with appropriate software
    • Represent the Pancratz Center at events
    • Work with vendors to order and maintain inventory of promotional items and materials
    • Work with graphic designer(s) and/or Pancratz student employees to develop signage and materials for events
    • Recruit students to attend Pancratz Center and NCoBPA events
    • Collaborate with UND Nistler College External Relations office to promote services and enhance visibility 
  • Plan and execute career-focused events
    • Develop, plan, and implement on-campus and virtual recruitment and career development events including career fairs, meet-and-greets, workshops, employer tabling, etc.
    • Utilize Handshake to set up career fair registrations, approve and invoice employers, and schedule interviews
    • Coordinate on-campus interviews with employers and secure and reserve interview space
    • Plan, promote, and execute closet-related events each semester
    • Strategize relevant topics for tabling throughout the year to engage with Nistler students and promote Pancratz services
    • Work with venues and vendors for all aspects of event coordination
    • Coordinate annual mentor program celebration and dinner
    • Work with campus safety office and ensure policies are followed for all events and correct forms are submitted
    • Create and execute a timeline for communicating with employers for events
    • Collaborate with campus and community members on programs and initiatives
    • Communicate with UND Career Expo Coordinator to share information regarding career fairs with UND Career Services 
  • Manage NistlerEdge; experiential learning platform and other career-related platforms and continually acquire up-to-date knowledge on new features and updates.
    • Utilize and market the NistlerEdge experiential learning platform to students and employers
    • Run reports on NistlerEdge to analyze usage and determine necessary changes to marketing strategy
    • Attend Suitable/NistlerEdge trainings/events
    • Communicate regularly with students on NistlerEdge to share information about upcoming events and to encourage continued participation and movement to next levels
    • Manage all aspects of the incentive process
    • Utilize Handshake or other career platform extensively for events and interviews
    • Attend Handshake/career platform trainings and workshops to stay current with latest updates
    • Manage mentor program applications for mentors and mentees
    • Develop new resources to fit the evolving needs of students and employers
  • Assist with daily operations
    • Mentor student employees and provide feedback and guidance
    • Order and maintain supplies for events and services
    • Attend NCoBPA events
    • Work on special projects and initiatives
  • Manage professional closet
    • Oversee Pancratz Professional Closet database and work to maintain a comprehensive inventory of sizes and styles
    • Develop and execute communication strategy to secure donations for the closet from alumni, community members, and employers
    • Work with student employees to maintain organization and appearance of closet for appointments and campus tours
    • Create marketing pieces tailored to students and to donors
    • Maintain inventory of all necessary supplies for the closet

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree conferred by start date. May 2026 graduates will be considered.
  • Professional work experience with marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience with social media including utilization of various social media platforms.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing or Communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
  • Demonstrated experience with all aspects of event planning and implementation
  • Photography experience including photo editing
  • Demonstrated experience with professional use of Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook
  • Experience utilizing Handshake and Blackboard
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience with Qualtrics, OmniUpdate, and WordPress, and Suitable
