Salary/Position Classification

  • Salary is determined by the applicant's degree: $1400 for Bachelor's, $1700 for Master's or $2000 for Doctorally prepared. Paid per credit. 
  • Hours will vary based on number of credits/classes taught per week.
  • This position requires an on-campus presence.

Purpose of Position

The part-time Instructor works closely with the Program Director and Chair to offer student-centered instruction in community, clinical, food service settings, research, and other nutritional health-related settings. All part-time instructors for supervised practice must maintain current knowledge and competencies in the assigned teaching area along with the required license and/or register to practice.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teaching responsibilities may vary from semester to semester and include, but are not limited to, teaching, tutoring, grading, course development and student learning assessment. For Fall 2025, an instructor is needed to teach:
    • N&D 240, Fundamentals of Nutrition
    • N&D 240L, Fundamentals of Nutrition Lab

Required Competencies

  • Strong communication skills
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with fellow faculty members, program director and professional students

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human nutrition or dietetics
  • 2+ years of professional experience
  • Registered dietitian/licensed nutritionist
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

  • Experience working with various populations
  • Experience mentoring students
  • Experience with professional education programs
