Salary/Position Classification

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

The imaging Technician is responsible for imaging, configuring and deploying computers and other devices for faculty and staff, as well as assisting the Endpoint Support Manager or Hardware Team Lead as directed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Image and deploy new computers for UND faculty and staff, including Dell and Apple desktops and laptops.
  • Re-image and redeploy existing devices, including data verification, coordination with users and device preparation.
  • Ticket management and workflow coordination, including updating ticket notes, monitoring queues, and managing device pickup/staging areas.
  • Training, support, and additional duties, including assisting with basic endpoint tasks, working toward Dell/Apple certifications, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be punctual, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Must possess strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to follow documented technical procedures and workflows accurately
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and take initiative in developing technical skills
  • Basic understanding of computer systems and hardware components
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems
  • Ability to follow step-by-step technical documentation for system imaging and configuration
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for common hardware and software issues
  • General understanding of file systems and data handling
  • Willingness to complete vendor training, including Dell TechDirect and Apple certification programs
  • This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired into this position
  • Must be willing to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
  • Must have a driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a technical support or IT-related role is preferred
  • Experience with computer imaging, deployment, or system configuration (e.g., SCCM, Intune, or similar tools) is a plus
  • Familiarity with macOS and/or mobile device platforms (iOS, Android)
  • Understanding of device lifecycle processes and endpoint management concepts
  • Experience working in a ticketing system (e.g., TDX or similar)
  • Experience working in a customer service or technical support environment
  • Previous experience handling or deploying multiple devices in a structured workflow environment
