Purpose of Position

Assist Director of Communications

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create, source, and edit content and stories to publish on social media, blogs, and our website
  • Create and update print promotional materials for CEHD programs and research groups, including flyers, brochures, and postcards
  • Catalog and compile CEHD stories for archive as well as for use in digital/print newsletters and communications to alumni and the external community
  • Create and maintain communication distribution and mailing lists 

Required Competencies

  • Ability to write and create compelling content on behalf of CEHD
  • Possesses a talent for digital organization and a high level of attention to detail

Minimum Requirements

  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficient in image editing (e.g. Adobe Photoshop or Canva)
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some experience in using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
  • Skill in editing images for content layout (e.g. resizing, cropping, adjusting contrast, etc.)
  • Experience in writing non-academic public-facing content for social media on behalf of an employer or organization
