Salary/Position Classification

  • $44,000 - $48,000 annual, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 40 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite in Bismarck, ND

Purpose of Position

The Front Desk Supervisor oversees daily front desk operations, creates a positive and welcoming environment, and ensures an efficient registration process by effectively leading and supporting the front desk team.

Duties & Responsibilities

50% 

  • Supervise and support front desk staff during daily operations
  • Oversee patient registration processes
  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage
  • Train, onboard, and mentor new employees
  • Monitor performance and provide coaching, feedback, and evaluations 

25% 

  • Identify workflow issues and implement improvements
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Develop and update front desk policies and procedures
  • Ensure accuracy and efficiency in data entry and documentation
  • Monitor appointment scheduling, phone calls, and front desk workflows
  • Maintain compliance with organizational procedures and policies Assist with insurance verification and payment processing 

25% 

  • Ensure a welcoming, professional, and courteous environment
  • Handle escalated customer/patient concerns and resolve complaints promptly
  • Maintain high standards of customer service across the team Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information 

Required Competencies

  • Ability to demonstrate telephone proficiency/etiquette
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in regard to all information acquired in course of performing the job.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work closely with faculty and resident physicians.
  • Ability to work with patients and the public in a professional, confidential, and calm fashion.
  • Ability to respond and perform effectively in emergency and stressful situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience training staff, managing schedules, or overseeing daily operations
  • Successful completion of Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with scheduling systems, phone systems, or EMR/EHR systems
  • Experience with data entry, insurance verification, and payments
