Community Program Specialist - GWEP

Salary/Position Classification

• $58,800 to $61,200, Annual, Dependent on Experience, Exempt
• 40 hours per week
• This position will work onsite at UND North Dakota campus

Purpose of Position

The Community Program Specialist oversees a large, multi-faceted, federally - funded Geriatrics education grant aimed at enhancing the knowledge, skills, and practices of the healthcare workforce and the community in evidence – based older adult health care. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who manages the project's work plan, ensures timely achievement of milestones, and oversees all aspects of the project, including collaboration with partners, marketing, product development, reporting and data interpretation.

Duties & Responsibilities

Manage 3 program assistants, data analysts, web master, and faculty from several health care disciplines

• Collaborate with academic, community and health care partners
• Represent the Dakota GWEP locally, regionally and nationally.  

Manage project work plans, monitor progress, and ensure project milestones are met

• Provide strategic direction to achieve project goals and outcomes. 
  
  

Develop, maintain and expand productive relationships with project partners from academia, healthcare and the community

• Develop and execute a communication plan
• Coordinate multiple levels of stakeholders, including healthcare organizations, educators, and community partners
• Negotiate contracts and MOUs with academic, healthcare, and community partners, defining their scope of activities, deliverables and delivery dates
• Work with federal, state, and local agencies to create policies that are Age Friendly 

Develop, test, and disseminate new educational products and tools that support Geriatrics education

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure educational content meets the accrediting standards
• Maintain and expand a Geriatrics - focused Learning Management System
• Educate and train stakeholder on Geriatrics health care quality improvement 

Gather, analyze, and interpret project data from multiple sources

• Report data to partners to inform and guide quality improvement
• Create dashboards and metrics to communicate project success and outcomes effectively
• Prepare and submit HRSA reports to the Project Director, partners, and the funding agency

Oversee quality improvement and accreditation alignment across multiple healthcare and educational systems, ensuring continuous program evaluation and improvement

• Design and execute Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles of quality improvement to optimize project outcomes
• Implement evidence-based strategies to enhance project processes and deliverables
• Implement predictive analytics and AI-driven insights for continuous program improvement.  

Establish External Funding & Sustainability Plans

• Assist with grant writing to secure additional funding and support for project initiatives
• Actuate long-term sustainability planning through endowments, industry partnerships, and governmental advocacy as well as incorporate educational products into ongoing health care curricula
• Formulate strategic financial growth plans that transition the program from grant-dependent to a self-sustaining model
• Generate peer-reviewed reports, abstracts, and publications to disseminate project findings  

Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote project initiatives and educational products

• Engage with community stakeholders to increase awareness and utilization of project resources 

Required Competencies

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders with a broad range of backgrounds in a team environment
• Strong project management, organizational, and leadership skills
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders with a broad range of backgrounds from academia, health care and the community.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education, public health, psychology, healthcare/health-related field, business, or accounting
• Experience managing and reporting information for external stakeholders
• Experience with peer-reviewed publications and grant writing
• Quality improvement or performance improvement experience
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education, public health, psychology, healthcare/health-related field
• Previous experience with computerized information systems
