Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Member Services Associates are responsible for a variety of tasks at the Wellness Center, including greeting and checking in members and guests, promoting membership sales, submitting work orders, cleaning duties, and providing all-around exceptional service to UND Wellness Center members and guests.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell memberships to prospective members
  • Serve as a resource by providing accurate and current information regarding Wellness Center and University related programs and facilities
  • Encourage and assist members to participate and register for upcoming events throughout the Wellness Center
  • Assist Facility Manager with facility operations that include equipment set up and tear down, cleaning, laundry, and Outpost rentals
  • Know and enforce all Wellness Center policies and procedures
  • Complete a variety of administrator-assigned tasks as needed, including filing and word processing
  • Perform cash, check, and credit card transactions through point-of-sale system
  • Implement and assist emergency procedures that include care for injured, initiation of emergency action plans, and notification of appropriate authorities
  • Operate facility management software
  • Swipe ID cards for membership verification and equipment issue
  • Attend all employee team meetings and training sessions
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the front desk and ensure the entrance to the facility remains presentable and in good working order
  • Complete daily tasks and shift reports
  • Receive mail and package deliveries for various employees of the Wellness Center
  • Serve member needs through organization, exchange, and inventory of sports and fitness equipment
  • Report all injuries, damage, equipment needs, and member issues to administrative staff thorough incident reports, shift reports, and work orders
  • Complete all cleaning and sanitation tasks as assigned to maintain a safe & healthy environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Outpost Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining, cleaning, and organizing outdoor equipment
  • Implement opening and closing procedures for The Outpost
  • Perform cash, check, and credit card transactions through point-of-sale system

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to enforce participant policies, safety and emergency procedures, and cash handling procedures in professional manner
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations effectively
  • Must be able to work evening and weekend hours
  • Complete PCI, HIPAA, and FERPA training within 2 weeks of hire
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED, or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of hire. (Training provided by the Wellness Center at no cost for employees)
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
