Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

ATHLETICS MARKETING DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT

Duties & Responsibilities

  • MARKETING ASSISTANT 
  • Assist Marketing staff with planning, preparation, organization, and execution of athletic promotions for football, volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, hockey, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, softball and track and field, NoDak Nation and Jr. Champions 
  • Assist in-house graphic designer with photo shoots, digital asset management, and graphic creation from templates. 
  • Assist with social media planning, content creation and postings. 
  • Represent UND Athletics at on- and off-campus events. 
  • Conduct market research. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
  • Work a minimum of 5 hours in the office each week during Fall semester and a minimum of 3 hours in the office each week in the Spring semester.
  • Note: All marketing assistants will receive a long-term project or sport designation. This will be determined prior to the fall season and will be based on seniority, availability and interest.
  • GAMEDAY ASSISTANT 
  • Represent UND Athletics at on- and off-campus events. 
  • Execution of athletic promotions for football, volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, hockey, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, softball and track and field, NoDak Nation and Jr. Champions 
  • Other duties as assigned - (Essential)

Required Competencies

  • Working knowledge of Division I sports offered by the UND Athletic Department
  • Strong communication skills (phone, email, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Xcel, Word, PowerPoint)

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work all home football games (visit Fightinghawks.com for schedule)
  • If hired as a Marketing Assistant, the ability to cover all games for your lead sport (assigned at a later date)
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Marketing, public relations or advertising major (or related field)
  • Willingness to learn or current knowledge of Adobe software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
