Admissions Tour Guide

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Tour Guides are the first, and often, lasting impression for campus visitors.
  • Tour guides will greet and assist with checking-in visitors at the Admissions office front desk.
  • Tour Guides will assist an Admissions Representative in providing a half hour long overview about UND and student life followed by an hour-long campus tour to prospective students and families.
  • Tour Guides will gain skills that will be beneficial for them during the duration of their education and in future careers, such as: interpersonal communication skills, time management, self-confidence, responsibility, using appropriate judgement, self-initiative, and the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds. - (Essential)

Required Competencies

  •  Able to work as part of a diverse team.
  • Ability to be on feet and provide a one-hour tour, potentially a couple times per day .
  • Guides are required to follow the UND Student Code of Conduct, the Training Manual and the Dress Code.

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires 2nd semester Freshman status level (or above) and a 2.5+ GPA.
  • Successful completion of a UND student conduct check.
    • Applicants must be in good conduct standing with the University. Students may not be on conduct probation prior to or at the time of hire and during tenure of position. Placement on conduct probation is grounds for immediate dismissal. Applicants must sign a release for the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities to verify this.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass the driver’s training requirement.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
