Salary/Position Classification

  • $53,000-$55,000 annual, Exempt
  • 40 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite the Grand Forks, ND campus.

Purpose of Position

• Coordinate the activity courses offered by the Kinesiology program in the Education, Health, and Behavior Studies department
• Support the varsity athletics courses offered by the Kinesiology program in the Education, Health, and Behavior Studies department
• Manage internships and field experience placements and processes for students in Kinesiology (Tracks B, C, D, and E) and Esports

Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership and Administration of Activity Courses 

  • Recruit and support instructors, prepare schedules, and provide instructional resources.
  • Develop and enforce safety policies for activity courses.
  • Introduce new courses and offer development opportunities for instructors (e.g., CPR/First Aid).

Supervise activity instructors, assess instructors, and actively promote activity courses. 

  • Monitor instruction and professional behavior of instructors
  • Assist in resolving conflicts that may arise between students and instructors
  • Monitor safety of instruction
  • Oversee activity courses program and instructional assessment
  • Evaluate program instructors 

Equipment and Facility Maintenance

  • Ensure safety and integrity of equipment and facilities.
  • Coordinate equipment requests, facility rentals, and liability waiver distribution.

Support Varsity Athletics Courses 

  • Maintain enrollment records and communicate course details to student-athletes.
  • Serve as liaison with Athletics for varsity courses.

Manage Internships and Field Experiences

  • Update internship policies, maintain placement records, and manage background checks.
  • Evaluate internship sites and supervisors, and ensure agreements are in place.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or related field.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a program coordinator (intramural, basic instruction, or recreation) on a university campus
  • Experience teaching at the university level
  • Trained in CPR and First Aid
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with with various kinds of sports equipment
